Look to the Heavens

Clear sparkling diamonds are so glorious to behold,
But the gentle flowing streams, true beauty does hold.
Gold can buy mansions, nice cars, and great fame,
But who can hold mountains or own the fresh rain?
Riches bring pleasures that last for a time;
God’s wondrous glory in nature we find.

The flowers so wild which in forests do lie,
The majestic peaks that reach to the sky,
The birds of the air in whose wings freedom soars,
In these are true riches and belong to the Lord.
If any seek wisdom or honor or fame
Let them look to the heavens from whence all things came.
